11Let Mount dZion be glad!
Let ethe daughters of Judah rejoice
because of your judgments!

Psalms 125:1-2

The Lord Surrounds His People

A Song of hAscents.

1 Those who itrust in the Lord are like Mount Zion,
which jcannot be moved, but abides forever.
2As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
so kthe Lord surrounds his people,
from this time forth and forevermore.

Isaiah 12:6

6Shout, and sing for joy, O inhabitant of Zion,
for great lin your
The Hebrew for  your in verse 6 is singular, referring to the  inhabitant of Zion

Isaiah 49:14-26

14 But Zion said, o“The Lord has forsaken me;
my Lord has forgotten me.”
15 p“Can a woman forget her nursing child,
that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb?
Even these may forget,
yet I will not forget you.
16Behold, qI have engraved you on the palms of my hands;
your walls are continually before me.
17Your builders make haste;
Dead Sea Scroll; Masoretic Text  Your children make haste

syour destroyers and those who laid you waste go out from you.
18 tLift up your eyes around and see;
they all gather, they come to you.
uAs I live, declares the Lord,
vyou shall put them all on as an ornament;
you shall bind them on as a bride does.
19 Surely your waste and your desolate places
and your devastated land
wsurely now you will be too narrow for your inhabitants,
and those who swallowed you up will be far away.
20 xThe children of your bereavement
will yet say in your ears:
y‘The place is too narrow for me;
make room for me to dwell in.’
21Then you will say in your heart:
Who has borne me these?
zI was bereaved and barren,
exiled and put away,
but who has brought up these?
Behold, I was left alone;
from where have these come?’”
22 Thus says the Lord God:
Behold, I will lift up my hand to the nations,
aaand raise my signal to the peoples;
aband they shall bring your sons in their arms,
Hebrew  in their bosom

and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders.
23 adKings shall be your foster fathers,
and their queens your nursing mothers.
aeWith their faces to the ground they shall bow down to you,
and aflick the dust of your feet.
Then you will know that I am the Lord;
agthose who wait for me ahshall not be put to shame.”
24 Can the prey be taken from the mighty,
or the captives of a tyrant
Dead Sea Scroll, Syriac, Vulgate (see also verse 25); Masoretic Text  of a righteous man
be rescued?
25For thus says the Lord:
ajEven the captives of the mighty shall be taken,
and the prey of the tyrant be rescued,
for I will contend with those who contend with you,
and I will save your children.
26 akI will make your oppressors eat their own flesh,
and they shall be drunk alwith their own blood as with wine.
Then all flesh shall know
that amI am the Lord your Savior,
and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”

Isaiah 54:2-10

2 anEnlarge the place of your tent,
and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out;
do not hold back; lengthen your cords
and strengthen your stakes.
3 aoFor you will spread abroad to the right and to the left,
and your offspring will possess the nations
and will people the desolate cities.
4 Fear not, apfor you will not be ashamed;
be not confounded, for you will not be disgraced;
for you will forget the shame of your youth,
and the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more.
5 aqFor your Maker is your husband,
the Lord of hosts is his name;
arand the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer,
asthe God of the whole earth he is called.
6 atFor the Lord has called you
like a wife deserted and grieved in spirit,
like a wife of youth when she is cast off,
says your God.
7 auFor a brief moment I deserted you,
but with great compassion I will gather you.
8 avIn overflowing anger for a moment
I hid my face from you,
awbut with everlasting love I will have compassion on you,”
says the Lord, your Redeemer.
9 This is like axthe days of Noah
Some manuscripts For this is as the waters of Noah
to me:
as I swore that the waters of Noah
should no more go over the earth,
so I have sworn that I will not be angry with you,
and will not rebuke you.
10For the mountains may depart
and the hills be removed,
but my steadfast love shall not depart from you,
and azmy covenant of peace shall not be removed,”
says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

Isaiah 59:20-21

20 ba“And bba Redeemer will come to Zion,
to those in Jacob who turn from transgression,” declares the Lord.
21“And as for me, bcthis is my covenant with them,” says the Lord: “My Spirit that is upon you, bdand my words that I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, or out of the mouth of your offspring, or out of the mouth of your children’s offspring,” says the Lord, “from this time forth and forevermore.”
